The outgoing and incoming board members of the Executive Women’s Golf Association (EWGA) Eastern Shore Chapter recently met and named its leadership. Nancy Dofflemyer, one of two original founders of the chapter, will step back into the lead role as president for the 2014 season. Other board members include Cheryl Sasser, Member Service director; Rosemarie Pomilla, Member Recruitment director; Ellen Davies; Events & Activities; Sharon Repass, Golf Programs & Services director; Linda Truitt, Finance & Records director; Barbara Stitcher, Marketing director and Janet O’Brien, Communications director. Stephen Decatur High School was one of the recipients of the 2013 Exxon Education for Excellence grants and received $1,000. The money will promote math and science education. On behalf of the school, CoPrincipal Kathy Cater accepted two $500 checks from Ocean Petroleum representative Steve Ladd.
The Worcester County Developmental Center (WCDC) held a dinner recently to honor clients who have been working in the community and to thank the businesses who have employed them. Acting WCDC Executive Director Jack Ferry handed out plaques to both employees and employers. The Ocean City Museum Society recently accepted the donation of USLA competition medals won by George Feehley in meets from all over the world. A full-time resident of Ocean City since 1955, Feehley is well known for his love of swimming, surfing and diving. Feehley was a member of the Ocean City Beach Patrol in 1946, a city councilman for four terms and a former gym teacher in Worcester County.
