This year, a new dimension, Drive in Disguise, has been added and will allow anyone wishing to decorate their car to be allowed to ride down the Boardwalk also. “This year’s event is going to include a Halloween twist,” said Mayor Rick Meehan. “We are grateful to the Downtown Association for stepping up to sponsor this event and for adding the Drive in Disguise element. I think a lot of people are going to enjoy the Halloween theme.” Decorated cars will join the OC vintage plate cars during the rally, which will roll-off at 27th Street beginning at noon. Vehicles will drive off the Boardwalk at the Inlet Parking Lot where prizes will be awarded and a group photo will be taken for all vehicles and drivers. In addition, various local organizations will have information booths set up and a DJ will play music. There is a $25 registration fee for Resort To Hold License Plate Rally Fall Restaurant Week Continues non-vintage license plate participants and those vehicles must be decorated. There is no fee for those with an Ocean City ‘vintage’ license plate and proof of insurance is required for all participants. Proceeds from the event will be used for prizes and event costs. OCEAN CITY – Diners desiring a delicious deal can tempt their taste buds through next weekend during fall Restaurant Week. Starting this week and running through Sunday, Oct. 27, this culinary promotion offers price points for every budget. Participating restaurants design menus around their choice of price points ranging from $10 to $40. Developed by the Ocean City Hotel-Motel-Restaurant Association (OCHMRA), this promotion allows area chefs the opportunity to become creative and develop dishes not typically on their menu. “For diners, this is a chance to experience restaurants they may not have otherwise chosen,” said OCHMRA Executive Director Susan Jones. “Additionally, it is a great way to support dining locally.” Make sure you like the new Facebook page, which has been created to showcase participating restaurants and their menus. Diners are encouraged to post pictures of their entrees. A list of participating restaurants, their menus and price points offered can be found at www.oceancityrestaurantweek.com. There will be delicious hot food and delectable baked sale items. There will be arts and crafts tables as well as face painting for children, a cake walk, inflatable bounce houses, a giant double slide, children’s Chinese auction and other family fun to benefit the HSA of Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School.
