Dead Shark Discovered
Lauren Wakefield, pictured, of Gaithersburg and her mother, Lori, came
upon this deceased shark near the northern tip of Assateague Island Tuesday
while walking on the oceanside beach. A dead sting ray was also found. The
shark was about six feet in length and its jaw had been removed and its stom-
ach had been cut open.
