Math Enrichment for Middle School Students
For children entering grades 5 through 8

This course is designed to help middle school students
continue to work on and refine their math skills
during the summer. Students will review the basics,
such as their addition, subtraction,
multiplication, and division facts. Jim Raufus, one
of Prairie's Middle School math tutors, will also help
students with graphing, calculating percent, and other
topics that might give a young math student trouble.

Have fun reading a required summer reading book in
a group setting. With the use of a variety of reading
strategies, the course will cover the reading of Maniac
Magee (6th grade) or Number the Stars (5th grade).
Students are asked to purchase the novel prior to
the first class. All students should read the first two
chapters of the book they are assigned before June
