ALUMNI
Melanie Henderson (’04) played the lead role of Maid Marion in the BMDS Christmas pantomime Robin Hood in 2009. She finished her run in Gilbert & Sullivan’s Oliver! the day before rehearsals for Robin Hood started. Stratton Hatfield (’04) was appointed to the Bermuda government’s Sustainable Development Round Table (SDRT). Logan Alexander (’04) played professional soccer with the Baltimore Blast. outback and windsurfed whenever possible. He travelled to Whistler, BC for the 2010 Winter Olympics. Rotary Exchange student Luz Baigorri (’05) sent greetings from Argentina, where she is pursuing a law degree and may get a teaching certification in Spanish. Kyle James (’05) is studying Management Information Systems and Business at Temple University (PA) on a BFIS scholarship. Jason Terceira (’05) graduated from Niagara College, Ont., apprenticed at three- and four-star restaurants in Canada, and has returned to the Island as a chef for the Sea Breeze Lido restaurant at Elbow Beach. Meliseanna Gibbons (’06) is pursuing a Bachelor of Science at La Sierra University, California, where she is an honours pre-med Psycho-Biology major with a minor in Music. BFIS Scholarship winner Andrew Osborne (’06) is in his final year at McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, studying Economics and Geography. Joshua Correia (’06) is a qualified EMT working with St. John’s Ambulance and is a Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor. Jesse Kirkland (’06), who with brother Zander is hoping to compete in the 2012 London Olympics, finished 24th in the Miami Olympic Class Regatta in January. When not competing, Jesse attends St. Mary’s College, MD. Rotary Exchange student Nurbek Ababakirov (’06) emailed from Bishkek City, Kyrgyzstan to say he is studying Business Administration there at the American University-Central Asia. In 2008, he travelled to Iran with his uncle and visited Kish Island in the Persian Gulf. “As I walked out of the airport, I took a breath of an island air which was humid and filled with a salty ocean smell and memories from Bermuda just flashed back. Those few days around the island I was recollecting the days in Bermuda. I definitely should return to Bermuda sometime in the future.” Ben Bernardo (’07) attended the Gordon Ramsey Cooking College at Tante Marie College in Woking, Surrey, UK, and is now a chef at Beau Rivage at the Newstead Resort. Bernardo has worked overseas as a chef and at Tucker’s Point Resort, St. George’s. Christopher Smith (’07) was selected for the Warner University Young Americans Choral Ensemble last year. Kryshae Furbert, Keishae Robinson, Brittany Uddin and Francesca Cacace (all ’07) represented Bermuda in the U-21 Pan Am Games Junior Hockey Tournament in Mexico. Nick Jones (’07), who plays the minitours in Florida, tied for fifth place in the Inaugural Bacardi Three Golf Tournament at the Fairmont Southampton Princess. Bermuda Foundation for Insurance Studies (BFIS) scholar Tim Fox (’07) just finished his second year at Queen’s University, Kingston, Ont.) majoring in Commerce. His favourite course was Business Decision Modelling. Oliver Riihiluoma (’07) is studying Mechanical Engineering at Stanford University, Palo Alto, CA, where he is on the Stanford Sailing Team that qualified for the US Collegiate Nationals in Madison, Wisconsin in May. He competes in the Newport-Bermuda Race this year. Jordan Robbins (’07) is studying Drama and Psychology at the University of Toronto, Ont., and has a modelling contract. She was featured in a fashion shoot in Style Bermuda in April. Multitalented Robbins was also the featured soprano soloist at the Bermuda Heritage Concert 2010 at St. John’s Church in May.

Alan Avery (’04) works at Dockyard Glassworks. Viran Uduman (’05) graduated from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ont., with a degree in Chemical Engineering last year. He is now in a Masters degree programme in Clean Energy at University of British Columbia. His sporting interests include basketball and hockey. Andrew Whale (’05) graduated with a Bachelor of Science (with distinction) in Biochemistry and Mathematics from Queen’s University, Kingston, Ont. He is working for Mercer Consulting (part of Marsh & McLennan) in Toronto as an actuarial analyst, with the intention of becoming an actuary. Colin James and Andrew Barnes (both ’05) also graduated from Queen’s University last year, in Business and Environmental Science, respectively. David Campbell (’05) graduates from Dalhousie University, Halifax, Nova Scotia, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology this year and will attend the Atlantic School of Theology in Halifax in September. Christopher Spencer (’05) graduated from Suffolk University, Boston, MA, and is now a news reporter for The Royal Gazette. Before graduating from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, PA, Peter Riihiluoma (’05) studied in Australia for a semester, toured the
