Outstanding work!
Saltus had a strong showing at the Teen Services Bermuda Outstanding Teen Awards 2010. SGY2 Head Boy Jacari BrimmerLandy was judged Overall Outstanding Teen, as well as winning the award for Leadership. Saltus students raised a whopping $15,771.88 for the Bermuda Red Cross in a grub day and bake sale organised to help victims of this the Haiti earthquake. Pictured are students presenting their cheque to Red Cross Director Ann Spencer-Arscott (see her story Page 35). Saltus also gave to many other good causes this year: l $1,136.30 to Open Airways, to support Island-wide asthma education for kids l $3,933.76 to Children International, International Red Cross and Bermuda National Trust, from Rag Week activities l $35,000+ to St. Baldrick’s Foundation for childhood cancer l $2,593.85 to Mid-Atlantic Wellness Centre’s child and adolescent services l $1,714 to Sunshine League Children’s Home, from “Carols for All” l $2,176.45 to Bermuda Diabetes Association, from Denim for Diabetes grub day l $2,322 to Bermuda Cancer & Health Centre, from Denim Day l $2,391.40 to Kiddie Academy
Upper Primary students won a wealth of medals and ribbons at this year’s Bermuda Annual Exhibition, entering top-scoring artworks, lunchboxes, flowers, fruit and vegetables, pets and recyclable critters, among other categories Three SGY1 students landed exceptional Math A-Level—Module 1 scores. Daniel Andrade and Megan LindsayBayley both scored 98, with Erik Pearson just one point behind at 97. Erik also had a perfect score in the Math section of the SAT exam.
