TAKING ART TO THE STREETS
A dozen S7 and S8 students put their artistic talents to the test in a mural competition for Middle School students. Berco Ltd. and the Green Family, developers of the former Waterloo House property, teamed with the Masterworks Foundation to stage the contest. Middle schools were invited to design and paint boarding surrounding the Pitts Bay Road construction site, with the theme “Bermuda, My Home.” Saltus’s team, led by Secondary Art Head Fiona Murdoch and S7 Art teacher Corrina Rego, spent two days creating their masterpiece (rain washed out their first day’s efforts!) and received a $500 prize for the School. Pictured are S7s Liam Peniston, Skye Kermode, Elizabeth Parsons, Anna Petty, Jessica Petty, Cathal Rynne; and S8s Zoe Simmons, Nathaniel Martin, Taja’mes Branch, Scarlett Brash, Daniel Perez and Zureena Rubaine
