Milam County hosts numerous festivals and events throughout the year. Texas towns like Rockdale, Thorndale, Cameron,
Gause, and Milano have fun-filled opportunities for the entire family.
Rockdale
Open to the public all day March 2 in downtown Rockdale, the Tejas Book, Art and Culture Festival will feature author
presentations, a "Humanities in Texas" exhibit, and art and car shows. Meet authors, Dr. Carl Rollyson, Milton Jordan,
Jacqueline Kelly, Sherry Garland, Kari Ann Holt, and Diana Lopez.
The 4th Annual Milam County Nature Festival occurs on Friday, April 12, at 7pm and Saturday, April 13, from 9 - 2pm at
Rockdale's Fair Park. Keynote speaker, Andrew Gluesenkemp, as well as Tim Stone, will educate visitors on Milam County
snakes. Other nature topics include urban animals, feral hogs, wildf lowers, bryophytes, mosses and liverworts, to name
a few. In addition, middle school student, Ben Shrader, otherwise known to blog fans as "Commander Ben," will bring
his Invasive Hunter Academy Program to educate citizens about unwelcome plants in this community. Expect subject area
exhibits, from an archaeological dig to bats and butterf lies, to be available. Entries for the Nature Photo Contest should
be submitted before Friday, March 29, to be eligible. Find out more

When autumn arrives, visit the 38th Annual Rockdale Fair and Rodeo,
