The celebration is full of holiday fun for the whole family. The twinkling lights, choirs and holiday cheer create a great place to come enjoy the holiday season for friends and family. Warm up with a cup of hot cider while listening to the Delmarva Chorus, who will be providing an array of festive music for the evening. The night will also be accompanied by a visit from Santa Claus for the little ones. The event is sponsored by local businesses, organizations and members of the community who have purchased a tree and hand decorated them for spectators’ enjoyment. The sponsors have selected their own site and are provided with a live tree approximately eight to 12 feet to decorate as they wish. Each tree is specially garlanded with its own unique theme that comes together to create one holiday masterpiece for visitors to enjoy. Proceeds Presented To Institute Ocean City Jeep Week, an annual event held each August, recently presented the event’s proceeds to the Kennedy Krieger Institute to support its Traumatic Brain Injury Department. Five years ago, the daughter of event organizer Larry Sackadorf, a 28-year career firefighter/paramedic with the town, had a horseback riding accident at the age of 4. She suffered six enter-cerebral brain bleeds, a fractured skull and several other broken bones. Today, at the age of 9, she has made a complete recovery and the family credits the treatment received at Kennedy Krieger. Above, Larry and Emily Sackadorf present the donation to Jody Luttrell, director of Care Management with Kennedy Krieger. Submitted Photo
