Barb Peletier, president of the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines-Ocean City, is flanked by recipients of the Kiwanis Volunteer of the Month for August 2013. Mary Logisz is on the left and her husband and fellow Kiwanian Joe Logisz is on the right. This duo has chaired numerous events and volunteered at many others.
Kay and Lenny Hickman were the winners of this year’s Ocean Pines Volunteer Fire Department house raffle. The couple will be keeping the house.
The 12th 9/11 Remembrance Service was held at Ocean City Elks #2645 to honor an Officer of the Year, PFC Richard Gutowski, and Firefighter of the Year, Angelo Floria, who has been an active firefighter for 59 years. Members of the McMullen and Wojciechowski families recently presented a donation from the Mary Mac Foundation golf tourney to the Ocean Pines Recreation & Parks Department. Mary McMullen, who passed away in August of 2012, was the co-founder of the Ocean Pines Youth Program and a special education instructor in Anne Arundel County.
