On Saturday, Sept. 21, paintings created during this event will be displayed at the Atlantic Hotel and sold at the “Wet Paint” sale and exhibit. A members and sponsors reception will be held from 5:30-6:30 p.m. followed by an awards announcement during an open-tothe-public exhibit held until 8 p.m. Accomplished local artist Corinne Beardsley will select artwork for first-, second- and third-place and honorable mention awards and monetary prizes. In addition, visitors will have an opportunity to vote for the “People’s Choice” award. “The Worcester County Arts Council is pleased to offer this exciting opportunity,” said Council Executive Director Anna Mullis. “Our objective is to stimulate interest in plein air painting while promoting the arts environment in Worcester County. Paint Berlin empowers artists to explore and interpret the historic sites, architecture, gardens and street scenes of Berlin. It also encourages residents and visitors alike to view our landmarks through the eyes of these artists while they work at their easels in public spaces.” Mullis added, “By making people more aware of the beauty of Berlin and by weaving art into the social fabric of our community, Paint Berlin hopes to inspire an interest in plein air painting, its origins and its history.” Weekly FLU SHOTS NO WAITING • JUST WALK IN MEDICARE PART B ACCEPTED Sudoku BY LINDA THISTLE Open ‘Til Midnight 7 Days A Week 75TH ST.
