GLOSSARY OF TERMS
APPENDIX 87
ACTIZORB
®
These are Nutrigold's unique range of
carefully balanced nutritional formulae delivering
a broad spectrum of natural, bioactive nutrients
in one cost effective, easy to take product. For
fl exibility we have developed several formulae
that form the basis of nearly every nutritional
regime we recommend.
Batch Number
A unique combination of numbers and/or
letters, which specifi cally identify a batch or lot,
and from which the product's production and
distribution history can be determined.
BIOACTIVE
®
This is a term we use to convey the message
that the products you buy from Nutrigold will
be made from some of the highest quality
biologically active nutrients available in today's
health market. The truth about delivering effective
nutrition does not rely solely on high label claims,
but more on how the nutrient reacts in the body.
Bioavailability
The effi ciency with which a dietary nutrient is
used within the body. The form of nutrient used
is crucial to the effi cacy of a supplement.
CITRIZORB
®
This is Nutrigold's brand name for natural
organic citrate minerals, which are generally
acknowledged to be one of the highest absorbed
forms of mineral supplementation. They are one
of the few mineral forms that are backed by
many high quality scientifi c research papers,
which demonstrate low toxicity and high
absorbability and utilisation by the body, unlike
inorganic mineral forms such as carbonates
or oxides. They are one of the few mineral
supplement forms to be approved by the new
EU positive listing for food supplements.
Elemental Weight
The amount of the active element of the capsule.
For example Magnesium Citrizorb
®
= 625mg
of which the elemental weight of active
magnesium is 100mg.
Good Manufacturing Process (GMP)
This means the product has been manufactured
in a facility that is bound by the Good
Manufacturing procedures, a well-recognised
high quality industry standard.
Gross Weight
The total weight of mineral (i.e. mineral + its
carrier) within a product not the active element
of the ingredient (see elemental weight).
HCl
Hydrochloride form of a nutrient, e.g.
Vitamin B6 can be in pyridoxine HCl form.
