review biodegradable alternatives as they
become available to us. For example, the boxes
we use to dispatch our orders in are made
from recycled cardboard and the packing
materials we use in our parcels are made from
either recycled or biodegradable materials.
The polypropylene bottles we use, although not
biodegradable themselves, do not produce any
CFCs in their manufacture. This reduces, where
possible, any impact on the environment for
future generations. We feel that these bottles are
essential from a food hygiene point of view to
fully preserve the ingredients. In addition, our
Golden Flaxseed Oils are contained in dark
glass bottles to protect the oil from light.
range of issues we have to consider, such as
the effectiveness of the ingredient taking into
account its overall bioavailability, absorption,
retention and utilisation within the cells of our
bodies. We also have to consider how the
ingredients have been processed, their purity
and the impact their use may have on the
planet. In more controversial areas, such as
the cultivation of Antarctic Krill and potential
impact on the fi sh stocks worldwide, we have
gone to great lengths to only use a well-policed,
sustainable source. Look for products stamped
with the Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)
logo for a sign of reassurance.
