2015 U.S. SOLHEIM CUP INFORMATION This season, U.S.-born LPGA members will continue to earn points toward positions on the 2015 U.S. Solheim Cup Team. Points are weighted 1-1/2 times more than they were in 2014, making the Solheim Cup year especially important in the points race. All major championships offer double points. Players began earning points toward the 2015 U.S. Solheim Cup Team at the 2013 CN Canadian Women’s Open. Points can only be earned at official LPGA tournaments. THE CAPTAINS Juli Inkster takes the helm as captain of Team USA in 2015. As one of the most decorated Solheim Cup competitors in history, she will bring a wealth of experience and energy to an American squad looking to bounce back after back-to-back losses in 2011 and 2013. Inkster made nine appearances as a player (second all-time) and became the first playing assistant captain in 2011. She’s the top American points earner in history with 18-1/2 points and ranks third in the competition’s history in matches won (15). Carin Koch will lead a surging European contingent in Germany in 2015. Koch made four appearances as a player (2000, 2002, 2003, 2005) and recorded an impressive 10-3-3 overall record. She’s tied with Americans Beth Daniel, Pat Hurst and Kelly Robbins for 13th all-time in matches won (10). Koch served as an assistant captain in 2013 when the Europeans upset Team USA on home soil for the first time in the competition’s history.
