This resort on the island of Hokkaido is well known for some of the world's
best powder skiing with an average annual snowfall of 8 meters and over 950
meters of vertical making it one of Japans largest ski resorts. There are great
cruising runs for beginners and intermediates with some excellent grooming
every night, lots of sunny days and uncrowded slopes with stunning views
of the Tokachidake mountain range. Furano has an English speaking ski and
snowboard school and day care facility for foreign guests. All accommodation
is located near the resort, with most being a very short walk to the gondola
and lifts. The town of Furano is a typical Japanese town untouched by modern
influences and is only a kilometer from the centre of town, so that access to the
post office, supermarkets, convenience stores and other shopping facilities are
only a short walk away.

North Country Inn has a great mix of Japanese tradition
and western convenience. The Lodge is newly renovated
and has 2 in-house dining areas including Nord Restaurant
and Bar which is known for it's great menu and the Inn's
own micro wines.
