Niseko is perhaps Hokkaido's and one of Japan's most talked about ski resorts
due to the phenomenal amount of quality dry snow it receives. Located
approximately 100kms south west of Sapporo (approximately 2 and half
hours transfer from Sapporo Airport) it is the biggest of Hokkaido's ski areas.
Mt Yotei an extinct volcano towers above the ski area. The area offers incredible
untracked bottomless powder, long runs and no lift lines in 4 separate areas all
interlinked with a shared lift system. The lifts are open from 8:30am until 9:00pm.
Night skiing is included on the Niseko Mountain lift pass.
Other Activities: Tours available from Niseko include a visit to the historic seaside
town of Otaru, the active volcano Showa Shinzan, and Sapporo snow festival, the
famous Sapporo Ice Festival will take place from 5 11 February 2014.
