The gateway to the Abel Tasman
National Park, offers a wealth
of activities for visitors. Why
not paddle into the park in a
sea kayak with one of the kayak
operators based at Kaiteriteri,
take a sea shuttle, water taxi or
launch cruise from Kaiteriteri
through the
beautiful park, and wander back
through the parks scenic bush
tracks. This region has the most
sunshine hours in New Zealand
and the long summers and clear
winters invite year round leisure
activities.
Summer ­ social times, festivals
and fun attract a great crowd
during the december and
January Holidays. February and
March bring hot, sunny, lazy
days, with the beach becoming
a lot quieter. The on-site shop,
open all year, has all you need,
from petrol, wine and beer,
groceries, fruit and vegetables,
newspapers, postcards and
souvenirs. Sandwiches, rolls, tea
and coffee are always available.
