A pleasant 20 minute drive from
Nelson is Cable Bay, an emerging
recreational and tourism
destination. The site of New
Zealand's newest Marine Reserve
it offers pristine water and an
intricate rocky coastline ideal for
exploring by sea kayaks equipped
with snorkelling gear.
Cable Bay Kayaks are highly
recommended and are based at
Cable Bay. They specialise in half
and full day eco sea kayak tours.
Other activities are hiking the
Cable Bay walkway, rock
climbing or just a swim at the
beach. "Call at the Happy Valley
café, renowned for toasted
sandwiches made from their own
home-made bread and great
Panini's.
Located on Cable Bay Road is
