Jenkins Chapter of the National Honor Society at Worcester Preparatory School were honored at an assembly for students and parents. Seventh- and eighth-graders at Stephen Decatur Middle School have partnered with Worcester County Library’s Ocean City branch to create the Teen Advisory Board. Activities include discussion and recommendation of books for their peers, school-wide book swaps and ideas for county-wide readingrelated activities. Submitted Photos Showell Elementary School kindergarteners Gabby Haley and Ava Konyar received junior firefighter hats after learning about fire safety from local fire departments during Fire Prevention Week. First-grade students at Ocean City Elementary conducted a math and science investigation using pumpkins. Above, Sarah Parypa, Kendra Tucker, Holden Bunting and Peter Snyder collect data to determine if the size of a pumpkin influences the number of seeds. Students from Most Blessed Sacrament Catholic School recently participated in a Walk-a-Thon to raise funds for the school. A total of $20,000 was raised through the Walk-a-Thon and the annual Fall Family Festival that is sponsored by the school’s Home & School Association. Stephen Decatur High School senior Andrew Bradshaw was recognized as a VIP of the Game on Nov. 1 at Seahawk Stadium between quarters of the varsity football game. Bradshaw was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the school and community and showing pride, achievement, respect and responsibility.
