In memory of allan Taylor 9th november 1934 – 17th december 2013 Allan has been associated with our Club and the community of Cabramatta for many years. In 1967 he acquired and established a Chemist in the Main Street of Cabramatta and for 33 years ran the busiest and most successful Chemist in the area. In the early years many of Allan’s customers were British migrants housed in the migrant hostel in the area, and returned Service Men and Women who resided in the war service homes development in Cabramatta, including my own family. In 1973 he joined our Club and was soon amongst many friends who were long time customers. Allan quickly took an interest in many areas of the club particularly our sports sub clubs, the Men’s Bowling Club and the Ladies Bowling Club ,the Junior Rugby League of which he was the Patron. In 1996 in recognition of his service to members of the club and the broader community of Cabramatta, the members at the AGM that year accepted the recommendation of the Board, and appointed Allan as the Co-Patron in conjunction with Former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam AC, QC. In 2006 Members again accepted the recommendation of the board and honored Allan with Life Membership. The year 2013 Allan having been a continued member of the club for 40 years was inducted as Veteran Member. On behalf of the Board, Management, Staff and Members of the club I offer our sincere condolence. A photo of Allan hangs in the Club Administration Foyer along with Former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam AC,QC.
