There is no Mortality payable for any person joining the Club on or after 1 June 1988. The current Mortality payment is $350. The qualify for Mortality in the case of Male Members and Lady Service Members, you must have joined the Club before attaining the age of 60 years and remained a Financial Member until the time of death. Mortality is payable to Female Members, providing they became a Social Member on or before 3 March 1982 and were under the age of 60 years old and remained a Financial Member until the time of death. On the death of a Member, Mortality is payable to the widow, widower or next of kin of the deceased. The payment is not automatic and must be applied for, by presenting a copy of the Funeral Director’s account and receipt, a cheque will be forwarded to the person concerned. It also should be noted that this payment does not become part of the estate, as it is a payment to help defray some of the funeral costs.
