CABRA-VALE sub clubs
T
camera club
he camera sub club had a wonderful three months session since the last edition of club capers. we have been active not only with our by-monthly meetings (for our readers the first & third Tuesday of each month 7.30pm at cabra-vale diggers, enquire at the reception desk) we have updates in tutorials that explain what our latest hi-tech cameras are capable of & what best to be cognisant of, but also with field trips to the most interesting places & events.
In the ensuing months we have had a bus excursion to Campbelltown where there are many things to explore (Museum & the Art Gallery) & well worth the adventure, the members also took in the Christmas Laser light show travelling into the city by train several times. During the Christmas Period we went to the Hunter Valley Gardens Christmas Light Display, that was huge & you could wear out your shoes just wandering through the gardens marvelling at the incredulous display. I think we were ushered out when it was getting on for midnight, with about five hundred pictures each. We are lucky that within our Band of Brothers (& sisters) we are fortunate to have the best people to find & make available to the group places of interest, & places that may make photography a worthwhile venture. We take the ensuing resultant pictures back to base (our club meetings) for either praise or criticism - bearing in mind that the criticism we receive is laced with the very best of intentions that explain in detail (micro detail) all the ingredients of years of endeavour to improve either the perspective or the composition of the picture to make something that looks ordinary into something worth viewing & presenting as a competition masterpiece. The people at the top of our tree can actually do that. We have had too many competitions & too many of our members have had Merit & Credit awards to be able to detail them all but we must reserve our praise to the outstanding improvement of all our brave band of members of our magnificent Camera Group, overall improvement is the most rewarding commentary from our President Chris Pritt & his close associates at the head of our tribe, Stuart Gilliana, Jose Sergio, Alex Ledwolorz, who lead us relentlessly onward toward the greater goal (whatever that may be).
