silver award – luana aukafolau plaTinuM award – olivia rownTree CABRA-VALE sub clubs rhonda sylvesTer – club person of The year Netball club This is a short report for this time of the year. presentation night awards Our Presentation Night was again a lovely evening & attended by Diggers Club Board Members, Sub clubs members which we deeply appreciate. Season 2013 produced some wonderful young athletes who were rewarded with our prestigious Cabra Awards. The following award winners all displayed wonderful sportsmanship, talent, skills & strong ability to progress to preelite netball from Under 12s rep teams through to NSW State U17s team. In the case of Luana & Eliana they have both achieved that in reaching the U12s Liverpool City Rep team who were Runners Up at the State Titles & Olivia was part of the U15s Rep team who were undefeated Champions at the State Age Titles & Olivia has progressed to the South West Sydney Academy of Sport & Phase III of the NSW U17s State Team. In the case of Alisha Ali, in 2014 she will play in her first competition after playing in the modified section in 2013 & we expect Alisha to progress quickly as she further develops her skills Bronze Award Alisha Ali (9 years) Silver Award Luana Aukafolau (12 years) Gold Award Eliana Isiana (12 years) Platinum Award Olivia Rowntree (15 years) Coach of the Year Varshini Pillay, Coach of our Cadets; she did a great job with her team culminating in winning their grand final. Club Person of the Year Rhonda Sylvester, Long-time Club & Life Member, Rhonda had a wonderful year coaching two teams to grand finals winning with her 13s & runners up with her senior Div 3 team. Rhonda is the kind of person we love having at our club. She is a dedicated coach & all of her players adore her. She is a truly valued member of our Club. Umpire of the Year A family affair! Teneille Wilcock was the Junior Umpire of the Year. She has progressed extremely well to be a great young umpire & she took on this role as well as successfully coaching her young 12 year team to a grand final win. Older sister Janaya Wilcock was the Senior Umpire of the Year. Janaya has now progressed to senior ranks & umpires frequently at Netball NSW headquarters on Saturday mornings at a higher level of the game & then returns to the our park to assist coaching & mentoring our young umpires.
