Staff
At Foundations Community Pre-School we maintain the ratio of adults to children as
set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage Statutory Framework. We also have
volunteers/parent helpers where possible to compliment these ratios. This helps us
to:
Give time and attention to each child;
Talk with the children about their interests and activities;
Help children to experience and benefit from the activities we provide; and
Allow the children to explore and be adventurous in safety.

All staff and helpers working at the Pre-School will have completed an Enhanced CRB
Disclosure and be registered with the ISA once this comes into effect.
Laura Styles Owner and Pre-School Manager

"Working with children is something I have always wanted to do ever
since I can remember. I spent work experience weeks at school
working in a playgroup, baby-sitting in my spare time and then went
onto college to gain my NNEB. I then went onto University to gain a BA
Degree with First Class Honours in Early Childhood Studies.
Upon leaving University I became a Teaching Assistant and led the After School Club
for a year. I went on to teach Reception for the subsequent two years before having
a daughter of my own.

In 2005 I became an Ofsted registered Childminder and joined the Childminding
Network a few years later. In my last Ofsted inspection I was awarded `Outstanding'
in every area.

I have also volunteered as a children's leader, and more recently to include youth
work, for 10 years.

In between all this, Matt and I have had 3 children of our own."
