As part of the registration pack you will be provided with a navy blue t-
shirt, sweatshirt, draw string bag and book bag, all with the
Foundations Pre-School logo. Extra items can be purchased if required.
You will also receive a car sticker.
Whilst it is not compulsory that children wear the Foundations Pre-School clothing,
we know that children enjoy having `special clothes' to wear when they attend. In
addition, this will help protect normal clothes from extensive messy play! We do also
supply aprons for the children when they are engaged in messy play, art and craft
activities.

We encourage children to gain the skills required that help them to become
independent and competent in looking after themselves. These include taking
themselves to the toilet and taking off, and putting on, outdoor clothes. Clothing
that is easy for them to manage will help them achieve this.

We ask that you pack nappies if required, a change of clothes, wipes and nappy
sacks, in the draw string bag provided.

Snacks & Lunch
Snack time and lunch time are sociable occasions in which children and adults sit
together. Children are encouraged to develop independence by selecting their own
snack and drink from a snack bar. Children are also taught and encouraged to pour
their own drinks and clean up any spillages.

We ask that your child contributes a piece of fruit or vegetable for the snack bar each
day. All fruit/vegetables will then be available for every child to choose from. Milk or
water is available to the children at snack time. Drinking water is available to the
children during the whole session.

Parents are asked to provide a healthy packed lunch for their child if they are staying
for the lunch club. We ask that you avoid unhealthy options such as fizzy drinks,
chocolate and sweets. By involving the children in packing their own lunch it is a
good opportunity to talk to them about making healthy choices. It is important for us
to know about your child's dietary needs and for you to update us of any changes.
With this in mind, please note that we are a nut free zone and foods such as peanut
butter should not be supplied in your child's packed lunch.

Please provide your child's lunch in a cool bag or place an ice pack inside the box in
order to keep it cool and to help prevent unwanted bacteria growth.
We do not
have a refrigerator large enough to store packed lunches.
Fees & Early Years Free Entitlement

(from the term after their third birthday) up to 15 hours of free early years provision
a week for 38 weeks a year. The 15 hours Free Entitlement can used for any session
at Foundations Community Pre-School.
