Historic gaslamp walking tour
3 hours (1:00 - 4:00 p.m.)
$75/person
The Gaslamp Quarter of San Diego is made up of one of the most extensive
collections of architecturally significant historic buildings in the country, 90 of which
are listed on the National Register of Historic Buildings. This tour vividly recreates
the late 1800's when the city near the waterfront fell into disrepair and the Stingaree
district flourished. Learn about the marketing secrets of the ladies of the Stingaree
red-light district and discover the haunts of famous former resident Wyatt Earp.
The tour also highlights many of the best Victorian-style commercial buildings
constructed in the years between the Civil War and World War I. Finish the tour with
a stop at Ghirardelli Chocolate factory (in business since 1852) for an old-fashioned
ice cream sundae with your choice of toppings.
