Greetings, yarn lovers!
I hope this letter finds you warm and happy, whether that means you're lounging on a beach or
snuggled under your latest woolly work in progress (WIP). The summer months are ahead of us
and it's always a complicated time for fiber people. Do you abandon your needles in favor of
garden tools? Do you adjust and knit with cool, slinky fibers? Or, do you stubbornly stick to your
warm fuzzy yarns, knowing full well that frigid temps will return all too soon?
Knitters are individualistic and the Skacel team is no exception. We answered "all of the above,"
and our Riff Tunic project reflects that. Inspired by Alicia Plummer's Montauk Tunic, we chose
a few of our favorite fibers and personalized each tunic with subtle details. Schulana Lambswool
is an ideal summertime wool; shown right, the lightweight tweed is soft and fluid. Riff's simple
silhouette is an ideal first sweater, and it suits a number of body types and sartorial situations.
You'll find variations starting on page 8 and the Riff Tunic pattern on page 20. The cover tunics
are knit with Zitron Savanna (left) and Zitron Finest Royal Alpaca (right).
