A Shorecrest education is a personal experience where the whole student
is known, appreciated and nurtured. In the Upper Division, grades 9-12,
opportunity is at every turn. We realize that each student has a unique
set of talents, and we customize opportunities for all student strengths --
scholars, artists, athletes, and volunteers -- to emerge in the classroom
and beyond. The lives of our students are anchored by an awareness of
diversity and the value of community service. Our college counseling
department provides individualized guidance to students and families
as they make curricular choices and prepare for application to college.
All of our students are accepted to colleges, but, more importantly, our
students are prepared to excel and thrive in a collegiate environment.
In August 2008, Landy Hall, a state-of-the-art, customized facility opened
its doors. The building features 17 classrooms, all with 42" flat screens
tied into our wireless computer network to facilitate course instruction;
computer labs; and a visual arts center with a digital film lab and art
patio with an outdoor kiln. A closed circuit TV system is the centerpiece
of our broadcasting and communications curriculum where students are
encouraged to produce content and enhance their public speaking skills.
