THE BEST OF KAMCHATKA – TWO YURT RIVER
[Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia]
The Two Yurt River float trip offers an amazing wilderness experience and the world’s finest fishing for rainbow trout, char and Asiatic Grayling. Over the course of this week-long float trip, a maximum of six anglers per group move downstream each day with the guides and the rafts, fishing anywhere from five to ten miles per day. Overnight accommodations and camp locations change each night, with each camp featuring two-person, A-frame-style cabins that are warm, comfortable and dry. In-camp amenities at each location include a flush toilet, a wood-fire heated shower, a common dining area, and evening campfires. This is a rustic wilderness camping and floating experience, and perhaps a trip that is best-suited for those seeking remote waters that are seriously “off the beaten path” and rarely fished. Keep in mind that fewer anglers fish the Two Yurt in a season than many famous Alaskan rivers see in a single day. With beautiful scenery, diverse wildlife, and over 50 miles of productive and pristine waters to fish and float, this is wilderness fishing the way it was meant to be. 7 night / 6 fishing day packages (double occupancy) $6,895.00 per person.
After essentially being closed for three straight years due to airline routing issues, The Best of Kamchatka re-opened for the 2012 season. Two seasons into this new era of operation, the world-class rainbow fishing is better than ever! The program on the Ozernaya River– known to anglers as the “Oz” – is a fixed camp operation in one of the most remote and untouched areas of the entire Kamchatkan Peninsula. This is a river that is loaded with insects, huge sculpins and the most pristine, genetically perfect rainbow trout on earth. Without a doubt, this fishery is one of the purest, most productive freshwater habitats in the world. While staying in the rustic A-frame-style cabins of the Oz camp, anglers have access to more than 50 miles of river each day via jet-boat. This program will have you fishing for char, monster grayling, and huge rainbows – all of which can be caught on large mouse patterns. We don’t use the term “trip of a lifetime” very often. Fishing in Kamchatka, however, is definitely worthy of that statement! 7 night / 6 fishing day packages (double occupancy) $7,895.00 per person.
THE BEST OF KAMCHATKA – RAINBOWS FROM ABOVE
[Kamchatka Peninsula, Russia]
An extremely limited offering that operates only three weeks out of each summer season, the “Rainbows From Above” program gives four anglers per week the ability to fish different rivers and streams each day with provate daily fly-outs on an MI-2 helicopter. In a wild land of no roads and endless rivers, there is no better way to fish for trophy rainbows than by accessing these rivers via chopper. Each night, the group will pour over area maps, discussing possibilities and options for the following day. Would you like to fish a river with lots of braids and back channels? No problem! Want small waters with abnormally large fish? It can be done. Strategically based out of a private lodge on beautiful Two Yurt Lake, this program gives you access to dozens of untouched trophy trout streams all located within 30 miles of base camp. In a land where most rainbows will die of old age without ever having seen a fly or a fisherman, this is without a doubt the most exclusive trout trip in existence.
