The Village of Greenport encompasses
approximately one square mile within the
Town of Southold and has nearly 2,100 resi-
dents. With one of the best natural deep-
water harbors on Long Island, Greenport's
history and economy is tied to the sea.

Like the rest of the North Fork, the sur-
rounding waters temper Greenport's climate,
making it warmer in the winter and cooler in
the summer.

streets, but watch for time limits in some
areas. There are a number of municipal park-
ing lots, located between Third and Fourth
