The cover art, called "Hanff's," is by Cindy
Pease Roe, whose work revolves around the
sea. Roe grew up in a family that has strong
ties to New England's boating traditions, and as
a girl, she loved to sail. Every boat has a story,
she believes. In Greenport, she has found the
same industry and traditions. "This is a way of
life that isn't going to last forever," she said, "I
want to chronicle it while it is still happening."
