WELCOME
5
From the Chairman of the Board and the Head of School
Dear Friends:
Welcome to the 2015 Premiere! We are delighted to have you with us at this landmark event,
especially in the midst of our yearlong celebration of Prairie's 50th anniversary. Thank you for
coming together this evening as we honor students, faculty, volunteers and alumni from the past
five decades.
Although much has changed since Prairie opened its doors in 1965, there have been many
constants the greatest of which is our faculty's dedication to educating leaders. For fifty years,
we have been proud to nurture generations of graduates who have gone on to become difference
makers in science, art, medicine, business, education and a host of other professions. A Prairie
alumnus leaves campus with outstanding communication and problem solving skills, prepared to
lead in their communities and careers. It is with your support that we will continue this tradition of
excellence into our 51st year and beyond.
As you may already know, proceeds from Premiere directly benefit our financial assistance
program, which in turn affects over forty percent of our student body. By underwriting our
mission of educating tomorrow's leaders, you are bettering the quality of society at large so
every bid you make has a direct impact on our students and, in turn, on the world. We promise
that the return on your investment this evening will be nothing short of spectacular.
Again, we are both deeply grateful to everyone the sponsors, volunteers, donors and attendees
whose participation is making tonight possible. Please join us as we raise our paddles, support our
students, and bid for an even better tomorrow!
