Dual Process Teaching - Advanced
Duration: 10 days plus one evening * Tuition: $1,395
Prerequisite: Dual Process Teaching - Basics
Intention: To deepen the student's capacity for inviting embodied self-inquiry; to teach the 9
Phoenix Rising themes of transformation as a model for what an advanced Phoenix Rising
Yoga class is; to encourage students to create class curriculum that aligns with the intentions
and criteria of an advanced Phoenix Rising Yoga class; to prepare students for their 4 month
mentorship program. Topics will include and use the teaching and experience of the 9 themes
to cover the following:
ˇ The art of sequencing in PRY
ˇ Inviting depth in the process of Self-Inquiry
ˇ Holding Space and its relationship to personal practice (mirror study)
ˇ Ethics of facilitating process work through yoga (at least 2 hours)
ˇ Practice teaching and feedback
ˇ Learning Sessions
ˇ Moving forward advanced techniques: private yoga sessions, workshops, retreats
(light touch on these, as packet work will cover some of this. Depthful study will occur
in the final module)
Lifestyle and the Subtle Body
Duration: 8 days with one evening * Tuition: $1,195
Intention: To deepen the students capacity for self-reflection; to offer tools for the student to
use in a daily routine (dinacharya); to explore the subtle body and its relationship to self-care
and the Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy process. Topics will include:
ˇ Yogic texts and how they pertain to lifestyle Gita, Ramayana and Puranas: Dharma.
ˇ Prana and its movements in the body and its relationship to PRYT
ˇ Ayurvedic Component for Lifestyle (2 days)
ˇ Meditation as pertaining to PRY, deep listening and witness consciousness
ˇ Discussion of seer and seen/prakriti and purusha: duality and non-duality
ˇ Sutra Study-Book 1 and in depth look at last 4 limbs and how they pertain to PRYT
ˇ Advanced PRY classes taught in the themes of Philosophy
ˇ The art of holding space and its relationship to personal practice
ˇ Focus look at subtle anatomy bandhas, nadis and chakras
and how they pertain to PRY
ˇ Focus look at subtle bodieskoshas
ˇ Look at endocrine and immune system in relation to internal experience
(Molecules of Emotion) and its relationship to PRY
ˇ How postures affect internal cleansing
Advanced Practice Module
Duration: 9 days with one evening * Tuition: $1,295
Prerequisites: The Art of Sequencing; Lifestyle and the Subtle Body
Intention: To support the teacher in offering more advanced forms of Phoenix Rising Yoga
through offering (but not limited to): Individual Yoga Sessions, Workshops, Retreats. Teachers
will leave this module grounded in the intentions that will support them in crafting outlines for
classes, individual sessions and retreats that address their areas of interest while staying in
alignment and integrity to the Phoenix Rising Therapeutic Yoga Process. Includes:
ˇ Advanced techniques for personal sadhana: meditation, pranayama, mantra
ˇ Advanced Techniques for Teaching individual yoga sessions, workshops, retreats
ˇ Ethics, boundaries and the business practice of yoga
ˇ Practice time
ˇ Learning Sessions with Supportive Feedback
Intention Into Action: Mentoring for Yoga Teachers
Duration: 3 months non-residential * Tuition: $1,495
Intention: To support the student in exploring what it means to be a yoga teacher; to support
the student in their own process of embodied self-inquiry; to expand student's capacity for
witness consciousness; to clarify intentions for teaching and create action around intention.
Includes:
ˇ Practice teaching and reflection
ˇ Feedback
ˇ Yogic lifestyle including sadhana log
ˇ Support during on going drop in classes or a set series of classes
ˇ Create curriculum for one of the advanced techniques (workshop or retreat)
ˇ What it means to you to be a yoga teacher
ˇ Business component and marketing
