By annually supporting new research, the pSF fosters an environment for scientific discovery that improves patient care and helps plastic surgery stay on the cutting edge of medicine. we were able to award grants to 28 investigator-initiated projects and allocate over $625,000 to support the newest, clinically relevant research. this year, grant applicants requested more than $2.5 million dollars and we are proud to have provided new funding to 28 excellent plastic surgery research projects of more than 130 grant proposal applications received. the pSF serves the entire board-certified plastic surgery community, providing clinical research and registry data to improve procedures, compliance, transparency and organization in the specialty. Because of the support of our contributors and the assistance of the american Society of plastic Surgeons (aSpS), the pSF is one of the most cost-effective fundraising and grant-making organizations in the specialty. at least 85% of all contributions are directed toward research and innovation. nearly 67% of the funding for the pSF is through individual donations of aSpS members and the remaining comes through partnerships with industry. Because of their support, the pSF is able to foster an environment for scientific discovery to help plastic surgery stay on the cutting edge of medicine. T h e P S F. o r g
