Scooter Thief Nabbed
OCEAN CITY – A Laurel, Del. man was arrested on vehicle theft and drug charges last weekend after allegedly swiping a scooter from a mid-town shop. Around 1:30 p.m. last Saturday, Ocean City Police responded to Continental Cycles on 72nd Street for a reported theft of a motor scooter. An employee had noticed the scooter was missing about a half an hour before calling police and located the missing scooter a few blocks away at 75th Street with a blanket draped over it and the registration plate and key missing. OCPD officers responded and quickly identified the alleged suspect as Treyon Miles Parker, 22, of Laurel. When the officers located Parker, they discovered he had an outstanding warrant for his arrest. During a search, the officers found prescription Xanax pills on him. The officers then were TREYON M. PARKER able to locate the registration plate and key to the scooter nearby. FBI Academy Graduate
OCEAN CITY – Ocean City Police Lieutenant Ray Austin last Friday graduated from the FBI National Academy Program in Quantico, Va. Austin was among over 200 law enforcement officers from across the country originating from local law enforcement agencies to federal and military organizations. Austin began the internationally recognized program in July and his time at the academy included 10 weeks of training. The FBI Academy is a very selective program in which participants must have proven records as professionals within their agencies. “It is no surprise to me that Lieutenant Austin was selected for this prestigious program,” said OCPD Chief Ross Buzzuro. “Graduates from the FBI Academy typically return to their agencies to serve as leaders of their departments in command level positions. Ray has been a leader and a great example of a police officer for years. His recent training at the FBI Academy will not only be a great experience for him, but ultimately for the officers who work for him, who will also benefit from his guidance.” Austin is the assistant commander for the Criminal Investigation Division. He was hired by the OCPD in July 1994 and was promoted to Private-First Class in 1998, sergeant in 2003 and lieutenant in 2010. He has worked in the department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigation Division, where he has served as a detective in both the general assignment and narcotics divisions. He is also a certified police trainer and has taught drug identification to season officers during past seasonal academies.
Suspended Sentence For Indecent Exposer
OCEAN CITY – A local man arrested in August on multiple counts of indecent exposure after several reported incidents in north Ocean City over a period of a few weeks pleaded guilty last week to one count and was sentenced to 90 days in jail, all of which was suspended in favor of a hefty fine and probation. Around 11:45 p.m. on Aug. 12, Ocean City Police responded to the area of Jamestown Rd. for a reported indecent exposure case involving a male exposing himself in a vehicle. According to a police source, the most delicate way to describe the suspect’s actions would be that he was pleasuring himself. OCPD officers had responded to the area on previous occasions for similar complaints, but in each of those cases, the suspect had left the area before police arrived. On Aug. 12, however, OCPD officers arrived in the area and located the suspect, later identified as Erik T. Rosado, 28, of Ocean City, who was still seated in his vehicle. Investigators determined Rosado was allegedly the person who had been seen by victims in his vehicle and exposing himself to passersby. Ocean City Police located two victims who positively identified Rosado as the suspect who had exposed himself on at least three previous occasions over the past two weeks.

Keim allegedly grabbed the driver by the throat, brandished a knife and threatened the driver with it. The driver stopped the vehicle in the area of 91st Street and was able to get out. Keim then got behind the wheel of the cab and started driving north on Coastal Highway. An off-duty Clarkstown, N.Y. police officer witnessed the incident and picked up the cab driver and together they followed Keim and the stolen taxi north on Coastal Highway.
