July 19, 2013 The Dispatch/Maryland Coast Dispatch Page 75 Snow Hill Gallery Announces New Artist Weekends SNOW HILL – Bishop’s Stock Fine Art, Craft & Wine is introducing Artist-in-Residence Weekends this month at the Snow Hill gallery. For 10 years, Bishop’s Stock has represented local and regional artists with over 100 shows. The Artist-in-Residence concept will now allow customers a chance to watch gallery artists paint, demonstrate or teach a workshop. Bishop’s Stock is already studio space on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for Doug Fisher, a Snow Hill wood carver, owner Ann Coates says “Many people stop by to see Doug at work, so introducing other working artists is another way to connect our customers and our talented artists,” said Coates. The Artist-in-Residence Weekend will be the third weekend each month. The first artist on July 20 and 21 will be Desiree Holmes Scherini. She is one of six artists currently showing Celebrate America during the month of July. Scherini is an active member of the Annapolis area arts community and teaches at the Maryland Hall for Creative Arts and Anne Arundel G. Love Plays In Ocean City Seacrets’ Morley Hall hosted a special concert on Monday featuring G. Love And Special Sauce. Bryan Russo opened for the band. She works in several different media, including pastel, oil, watercolor, pencil and charcoal, as well as photography. Her work includes a variety of sub- jects, but she particularly enjoys landscapes, portraits and figure painting and drawing. While in the gallery, she will be painting and will have additional work to show. Bishop’s Stock is located at 202 West Green St. in Snow Hill. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon-4 p.m. on Sunday.
