champions- 2013
after winning their way to the Nsw state pennant
playoffs, the C.ex woolgoolga Men's Grade Three
pennant team headed south to Towradgie Bowling Club
(wollongong) in anticipation for the big challenge ahead.
But unfortunately woolgoolga's hopes plummeted early
during the weekend when it was defeated by Leichardt, 81
/ 51 in round one. The afternoon session saw woolgoolga
c.ex
Sports & Leisure
drawn against the might of metropolitan powerhouse
club Taren point and whilst the team had made vast
improvement on their earlier performance, the Taren
point side was able to run out winners by ten shots.
after losing both games on day one, day two provided
an opportunity to restore a little pride before setting
sights on the long trek home. The woolgoolga team
was keen to erase the performance of yesterday and
quickly found some of its earlier season form to score a
resounding thirteen shot wins over The hills Bowling Club
59 / 46, ending the weekend on a positive note.
and whilst the team may have been disappointed with
its playoff results, there is a lesson to be learnt and all will
be wiser for the experience, as state titles don't come
easily. Congratulations to all bowlers who represented the
Grade Three's on a great season in winning the Mid North
Coast & Zone 14 pennant crowns.
hat trick on!!!
The C.ex woolgoolga women's Bowling Club has
maintained its mantle as the Mid North Coast's premier
women's Bowling Club by winning the Grade one
Pennant flag for the second year running. The girls of the
northern beaches may not be overwhelmed by member
numbers but certainly make up for this shortfall with a
bevy of bowling talent.
It was only two years ago a number of the clubs bowlers
held some apprehension towards the instalment of two
Dales synthetic Greens but soon realised on the Greens
completion, that the uniformity of the new product would
only accentuate the consistency and skill of the clubs many
fine bowlers.
whilst the woolgoolga ladies had limited success at the
regional playoffs, the NswwBa state Match Committee
has recently decided to trial new grade rulings for the next
four years which may assist in regional clubs qualifying and
becoming more competitive at state level.
Congratulations to the C.ex woolgoolga women's
Grade one pennant Team on another great year.
