In Memoriam: John Clark Francett Q ueensbury – John Clark Francett, 61, of Corinth Road, passed away at Glens Falls Hospital on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 after a brief yet courageous battle with lung cancer. John C. Francett was born February 8, 1951 in Easton, PA; he was the son of John William and Betty (Porter) Francett. John was a devoted husband and loving father who worked his entire career in the municipal water industry most recently as a Senior Field Engineer for Itron Inc. He traveled often for work and enjoyed flying Southwest’s Boeing 737’s. He loved vacationing with his wife, Bonnie, to various locations throughout the United States, especially the southwest where he expressed his gift of photography. John was an Eagle Scout and graduate of Hamilton College in Clinton, NY. He passed on his enthusiasm for education and scouting. Like John, both his sons are Eagle Scouts, and John, Bonnie, Neil and Harrison all hold the Vigil honor of the Order of the Arrow. He also passed on his passion for music to both his sons. He was predeceased by his father, John William Francett and his father-in-law, James Kenneth Elder. Survivors include his loving wife of 34 years, Bonnie Elder Francett; his son, Harrison William Francett of Queensbury; his son, Neil Elder Francett and his girlfriend, Lisa Gordon, of Wilton; his mother, Betty Francett of Queensbury; his brother, Colin Francett and wife, Cindy of Queensbury; his brother, Rodney Francett and wife, Mariann of Inari, Finland; his brother, Michael Francett and wife, Lori of Queensbury; his brother, Bryan Francett and wife, Karen of Athens; his brother-inlaw, David Elder and wife Teresa, of St. Petersburg, FL., as well as uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. John was a strong, quiet man with a healthy sense of humor. All who knew him will miss his striking intelligence and his many gifts that he shared so freely with those around him. His family would like to thank the nurses of Tower 2 of Glens Falls Hospital, Dr. Gillani, P.A. Donna Boss, and the exceptional Cancer Center staff where John was treated.
