Dallmeier achieves patent for Panomera
Regensburg, Germany
Dallmeier
has been granted a
patent by the German Patent and
Trademark Office entitled "Über-
wachungseinrichtung" with an
issue date of 4.6.2011, confirming
just how unique the Panomera
multifocal sensor system is.
Meanwhile, the 3-months
objection period, during which
third parties can raise an objection
against the assignation of patent,
has expired. As no legally effective
protest has been filed, the assigna-
tion of patent has now become
irrevocable. The number of the
patent is 10 2011 103 378.
It has been just over a year
since the application was filed
and the German patent has finally
been granted. "A very short time
when one considers that patent
applications can often drag on
for several years", explains Dieter
Dallmeier. And he declares; "This
patent underscores the unique
nature of this technology."
The multifocal sensor system
convinces with its new lens and
sensor concept: Panomera works
with several lenses, each of which
has a different focal length. Thanks
to this, the camera can be adapted
optimally to the area for surveil-
lance, so details are still clearly
visible, not only close up but also at
very long distances, and individuals
can be recognised even at 160m
distance. The camera permanently
records the whole image with high-
est detail resolution. PTZ functions
like panning or zooming are there-
fore also possible in the recordings.
This way every incident can be
reconstructed and documented
subsequently after the event.
Panomera is already used in
numerous national and inter-
national projects, e.g. in various
German Football League stadia
(Mönchengladbach, Leverkusen,
Cologne, Dortmund, ...), at
airports (Nuremberg, Naples) or
in the French shopping-mall La
Part-Dieu in Lyon.
Bosch camera wins industrial design awards
Munich, Germany
The Dinion HD 1080p day/night
surveillance camera from Bosch
Security Systems
has been hon-
oured with two prestigious awards
for outstanding product design:
the German Design Award and
the Dutch Good Industrial Design
Award.
Both juries, comprised of
highly renowned design experts,
emphasised the great attention to
detail in all components, ranging
from the lens and image sensor
down to the casing.
The German Design Award
is the German Design Council's
highest international form of
recognition and was granted on
15 February 2013 in Frankfurt/
Main. According to the company,
the Dinion HD 1080p's remark-
able and innovative design set it
apart from the competition in the
"Industrial Goods and Materials"
category. The jury recognised the
camera for supplying HD images
with excellent colour differen-
tiation, even in moderate lighting
conditions. The product also im-
pressed with its "precise execution,
seamless transitions and clear lines."
The Good Industrial Design
Award is the hallmark for indus-
trial design in the Netherlands.
The Dinion HD 1080p has been
honoured in the "Professional
Products" category. The prize,
which is awarded annually by the
Design Cooperation Brainport at
the Dutch Design Week in Ein-
dhoven, celebrates products that
display a high level of craftsman-
ship and professional expertise.
Bosch Security Systems' design
expertise is founded on many years
of experience and commitment. In
2010, the award-winning Dinion
HD 1080p replaced the iconic
Dinion camera, which had been
a popular choice in the surveil-
lance appliances market for years.
The concept focuses primarily on
strong design elements that are
carried out throughout the series,
building a strong Bosch brand
identity. The new camera boasts
fully redesigned casing, providing
enough space for the sophisticated
high-definition technology inside.
"To us, design is more than
just beautiful appearance. It is also
a unique selling point," explains
Ad Biemans, Product Marketing
Manager at Bosch Security Sys-
tems. "We want to be successful
in the premium segment of the
surveillance camera market. There-
fore our professional HD cameras
are designed with utmost attention
to detail and are expressions of the
pure Bosch brand identity."
The Dinion HD 1080p deliv-
ers high-resolution images even
under challenging lighting condi-
tions. The camera uses the latest
CMOS-based HD sensor for a
sharper, more detailed picture with
a 16:9 image format. Multicast-
ing, Internet streaming and iSCSI
recording (CCTV storage) are all
fully supported, and the camera's
built-in Intelligent video analysis
incorporates features like "idle
object", "line crossing", "flow
detection" and "crowd detection"
to help operators monitor highly
frequented environments.
Bosch Security Systems' design
of the Dinion HD 1080p camera
has been recognised repeatedly
by international award bodies. In
2012 it received the red dot design
award for its elaborate and in-
novative product design. This year
also, the camera received the MTP
Gold Medal Award, given at the
trade fair Miedzynarodowe Targi
Poznanskie in Poznan, Poland. In
2011, the Dinion HD 1080p won
the Good Design Award in the
"Protective Equipment" category.
It is awarded annually by the
museum `The Chicago Athenaeum
and Design' and the `European
Centre for Architecture Art Design
and Urban Studies'.

alignment of the camera's cover
zone with that of the PIR sensor to
avoid dead zones.
Some of the enhanced features
offered by Alarmview include sup-
port for up to six Smartview (in-
door) and or Outview (outdoor)
cameras, high-quality day & night
colour images and fast transmis-
sion to CMS, graphic and user-
friendly LCD display and support
