BUCKET LIST DESTINATIONS AND UNDER RATED CRUISE PORTS If you’re an avid cruiser, chances are you’ve been to Rome or Venice. In its highly-anticipated 2013 Cruise Trends survey, Cruise Holidays International identified the top cruise destinations that travelers should have on their bucket list. These two Italian destinations helped launch Italy to the top of the “cruise bucket list.” Barcelona came in third. Sydney, Australia, tied with Alaska for fourth place, and Istanbul, Turkey, placed sixth. Meanwhile, Cruise Holidays cruise experts also voted on the cruise ports they feel are the most under-rated. The Pearl of the Adriatic – Dubrovnik, Croatia – took the coveted top spot. Istanbul tied for second with Tallinn, Estonia. Stockholm, Sweden took fourth place on the list of under-rated cruise destinations. Finally, three destinations tied for the fifth spot: Amsterdam, the Hawaiian Islands, and Barcelona, Spain. SILVERSEA’S NEW EXPEDITION SHIP WILL SAIL THE GALAPAGOS Silversea has announced Silver Galapagos as the name for its second small-sized expedition ship, which is currently sailing as the Galapagos Explorer II. The new name will take e ect after the all-suite, 100-guest vessel undergoes a major refurbishment in September. Silver Galapagos will be the only luxury expedition ship o ering socially and environmentally responsible ecotourism to the Galápagos archipelago, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
