Students will learn the basic vocabulary needed for essential communication, such as the alphabet, personal information, everyday basic questions (e.g. “where is the bathroom?”), numbers and more. There will be music from different Latin countries, games and guest speakers, so the students will have the opportunity to use their new skills.

COnversatiOnal german
Learn beginning German for travel, education, or just for fun! Students will learn basic grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation. Online dictionaries will be used. Course materials will be drawn from various German language texts. Parallels with English grammar will be used as an aid to translate grammar concepts in German. As the course progresses, the content can be customized to the participants’ desires and goals. Activities will include grammar, group work, fun videos and creative writing. German films (with subtitles in English) will be used as an introduction to modern German culture and as a listening exercise.
