Zitron Patina
55% Merino Wool, 45% Rayon · 120 yards per 50 gram ball · US 4-6 (3.5-4 mm) needles · Approx. 5.5 sts per inch
Old Denim Blanket by Cirilia Rose
Inspired by the faded but beautiful quilts of Gee's Bend, Alabama, this
mismatched stripe is worked in a soothing gradient of indigo hues.
Shimmering Zitron Patina is worked in linen stitch for a simple
beauty that will stand the test of time. To make the 34" x 48" blanket,
shown here, you'll need 2 balls each of the colors listed to the right.
Using US size 6 needle, cast on 99 stitches. Keeping first and last three
stitches in Garter Stitch (knitting every row), work the following
stripe sequence in Linen Stitch.
Linen Stitch (multiple of 2 + 1)
Row 1: *knit 1, slip 1 with yarn in front; repeat from * across, ending
with a knit 1.
Row 2: *purl 1, slip 1 with yarn in back; repeat from * across, ending
with a purl 1.
Repeat these two rows for pattern. When slipping stitches, always slip
as if to purl.
After first strip is completed, knit a second. With right sides up, rotate
one strip 180 degrees and join strips with mattress stitch.
