Rib & Welt Pillow
Four balls of Sayonara Print makes a 16" x 16" pillow. To
make coral pillow, using color #51 and US size 7 needles,
cast on 82 stitches. Knit one row. Work in Rib and Welt as
follows, keeping first and last stitch in Garter or Stockinette
Stitch to facilitate seaming.
Row 1 (RS): *knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 5, repeat from * to
end.
Row 2 and all WS rows: knit the knits and purl the purls.
Row 3: knit 1, purl 1, *knit 5, purl 1, knit 1, purl; 1 repeat
from * end knit 5, purl 1.
Row 5: knit 1, *purl 5, knit 1, purl 1, knit 1; repeat from *
end purl 5, knit 1, purl 1.
Row 7: *knit 5, purl 1, knit 1, purl 1; repeat from * to end.
Row 9: purl 4, *knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 5; repeat from *
end [knit 1, purl 1] twice.
Row 11: knit 3, *purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 5; repeat from *
end purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 2.
Row 13: purl 2, *knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 5; repeat from *,
end knit 1, purl 1, knit 1, purl 3.
Row 15: knit 1, *purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 5; repeat from *,
end purl 1, knit 1, purl 1, knit 4.
Row 16: Repeat Row 2.
Repeat Rows 1-16 for pattern until piece measures 15.5"
from cast on edge, ending with a RS row. Knit one row,
then bind off all stitches. Make two pillow backs as follows:
cast on 80 stitches and knit in Garter Stitch until piece
measures 10". Bind off all stitches. Sew front to backs, over-
lapping pillow backs for 2" and sewing through both layers.

Ripples & Ridges Pillow
Four balls of Sayonara Print makes a 14" x 21" pillow. To
make blue pillow, using color #52 and US size 7 needles,
cast on 56 stitches. Knit one row. Work in Ripples and
Ridges as follows, keeping first and last stitch in Garter or
Stockinette Stitch to facilitate seaming.
Row 1 (RS): knit all stitches.
Row 2: purl all stitches.
Row 3: *(knit 2 together) 3 times, (yarnover, knit 1) 6 times,
(knit two together) 3 times; repeat from * to end.
Row 4: repeat Row 1.
Repeat these 4 rows for pattern until piece is 20.5" long,
ending with Row 2. Bind off all stitches. Make one pillow
back as follows: cast on 56 stitches and knit in Stockinette
Stitch until piece measures 16". Work in Garter stitch for
1", then bind off all stitches. Make second back as follows:
cast on 56 stitches and knit in Stockinette Stitch until piece
measures 6". Work in Garter stitch for 1", then bind off all
stitches. Sew front to backs, overlapping pillow backs for 2"
and sewing through both layers.
