POLICE
idden in the leafy Perth suburb of Maylands, on the banks of the Swan River, directly opposite Belmont Race Course, sits the stable facility that is home to WA’s Mounted Police Section. The Spanish style complex consists of stables, storage and offices, which surround a central training arena. It is here that the sections mostly draft crosses are trained in the art of frontline policing, a move away from the past where the unit’s role was mainly ceremonial.
