and Dressage Teams had their first National Competition and the shooting phase of Tetrathlon was held. Evening entertainment saw riders from a range of disciplines and States battling it out in the 5 Bar competition. This was definitely a crowd pleaser. Day3 consisted of the Warm Up Dressage for Eventing as well as National Competition day for Dressage, Showjumping and PPMG teams. Tetrathlon held their final unmounted phase which was swimming. Spectators in the evening enjoyed the dressage talents of riders with a spectacular Quadrille Competition. National Competition continued over Day 4 and 5 of competition and included the cross country phase of the Eventing Competition, This had to be moved to the Gidgegannup grounds due to untimely wet weather in the lead up to the event rendering the Brigadoon course unrideable. The Official Team Dinner was held on the Saturday Night at the beautiful Belvoir Function Centre. This provided a stunning backdrop for Team Photos, as well as a chance to mingle with riders, families and support crew from other States. The evening also included inspirational

talks from Olympian Sonja Johnson and Para Olympian Sharon Jarvis. Day 6 saw the conclusion of competition with the Eventing Showjumping, Showjumping and the very popular ridden phase for Tetrathlon. Final presentations were mounted and it was quite an emotional moment to see riders and horses in state uniform all together. The final evening, everyone got the chance to let their hair down at the Indoor “Beach Party’. New friends from across the countries said their goodbyes as our visitors readied themselves for the long trip home. The spirit of the Championships was amazing. PCAWA is proud to have hosted such a fantastic event and we thank the athletes and their families that made the journey west to be a part of the 2013 PCA National Championships.
