The Ocean City Surfrider Chapter has donated $3,500 to the Maryland
Coastal Bays Program (MCBP) to be used toward beach clean ups and the
"Leave only your footprints" campaign. Pictured, from left, are MCBP Execu-

The Ocean City Cruzers recently presented donations to two organizations
in the area totaling $1,500. Recipients were Coastal Hospice, $500, and the
American Legion Post #166, $1,000, represented above was Sarge Garlitz.
Star Charities held its annual Beef 'n Beer benefit dinner Jan. 11 at the
Ocean Pines Community Center with proceeds going to Home of the Brave,
a holiday away-from-home for combat veterans and their families. The facili-
ty, founded by Tina Pearson, derives its income from donations and is open
to combat veterans ­ and their families ­ who have deployed within the last
18 months in a combat setting or those currently receiving medical care for
injuries sustained while in combat. Pictured, from left, are Larry Walton,

Ravens Roost 96 presented a check for $9,100 to Jerry Black, Executive
Director of Veterans Support Centers of America (VSCOA). The Roost raised
this money through a golf tournament held on Oct. 25, 2013, which was gen-
erously supported by businesses and individuals in both Maryland and Dela-

The Delmarva Condominium Manager's Association (DCMA) recently do-
nated $3,830 to the students of Cedar Chapel Special School, which plans to
use the funds to purchase additional iPads for student use. Cedar Chapel re-
cently implemented a Communication for All Students Program through the
use of iPads. Currently, each classroom utilizes iPads to facilitate communi-
cation experiences and foster motivation for student learning. Pictured, from
