OCEAN CITY ­ The Ocean City
Recreation and Parks Department's
winter youth basketball league con-
tinued this week with a full slate of
games at Northside Park.
The following is a quick look at
some of the action:
·Endless Golf 32-OC-Berlin Op-
timists 24: Cole Gursky and Blake
Marshall each scored 10 points for
Endless Golf. Ben Brandt and John
James each scored 10 for the Op-
timists.
·OC Rec Boosters 54-Bayside
Skillet 52: Mihail Beja led all scorers
with 21 points and Alex Gaddis
added 19 to lead the Boosters to the
tight win. Matt Kinsey scored 15
points for the Bayside Skillet while
Ryan Danaher and Sam Edmunds
scored 10 each.
·Sea Colony 50-Trimper's Rides
43: Jamier Felt scored 19 points
and Tajeem Woodard added 12 to
lead Sea Colony. Billy Wheatley
scored 18 points and Brett Berquist
added 13 for Trimper's in defeat.
·OC Rec Boosters 41-OC FOP
22: Tim Roberts led the Boosters
with a game-high 20 points. Kody
Johnson led the FOP with 11 points.
·OC FOP 46-Delmarva Irish 42:
T.J. Bindell led all scorers with 26
points to lead the FOP. Mitchell
McGee led the Irish with 19 points
and Quinn Ebaugh added six.
·OC-Berlin Optimists 55-OC Rec
Boosters 48: Karon Purnell scored
27 points and Aaron Waples added
18 to lead the Optimists over the
Boosters. Gregory Ray scored 15
points and Colin Reeves added 12
for the Boosters in the loss.
·Park Place Jewelers 41-OC
Parrotheads 35: Colton Edmunds
scored 24 points and Shane Ciccio
added 13 to lead Park Place over
the Parrotheads. Cole Deppe and
Kevin Beck each scored eight
points for the Parrotheads in the
loss. ·OC-Berlin Optimists 48-OC FOP
47: Trevor Jamerson scored 14
points and Vonnie Catrino added 12
to lead the Optimists. Kodie John-
son scored 22 points for the FOP in
the loss.
OC Basketball Action Continues

BERLIN ­ Stephen Decatur's
varsity indoor track teams turned in
solid performances in the latest
meet last week with the girls finish-
ing third overall and the boys finish-
ing seventh out of the 20 teams in
the field.
The Decatur girls finished with 60
total team points, good enough for
third place overall behind Sussex
Tech (68) and North Caroline (63).
The Seahawk boys finished sev-
enth. Caesar Rodney was first, Sus-
sex Tech was second and Kent Is-
land was third.
On the girls' side, Decatur's Lay-
la Fowler turned in another strong
individual performance, finishing
first in the 500, second in the 800
and fourth in the 300. Christina
Romano was eighth in the 300 and
Jenna Leitgeb was ninth in the 800.
Emily Cook was fifth in the 55-hur-
dles, while Emily Kolarik was sev-
enth.In the 1,600, Rose Billings was
sixth and Jordan Klebe was sev-
enth. The Decatur girls also finished
first in the 4x400 relay and fifth in
the 4x200.
In the field events, Katie Collins
was third in the pole vault, while
Kacie Moore was fourth and Jillian
Mitrecic was eighth. Romano finish-
ed third in the high jump. Maury
Izzett was 10th in the long jump and
Takia Long was 10th in the shot put.
On the boys' side, Jackson Mum-
ford was second in the 500 and fifth
in the 300. James Phillips was
fourth in the 55-hurdles, Kevin
Herbert was seventh in the 800 and
John Niefeldt was seventh in the
800.The Decatur boys finished third
in the 4x400, third in the 4x800 and
fourth in the 4x200. Ben Short was
eighth in the high jump, Jacob
Ciurca was seventh in the long jump
and Ernest Shockley was ninth in
the shot put.
Track Teams Turn In Solid Meets

BERLIN ­ Stephen Decatur's
girls' varsity swimming team stayed
on a big roll last week, beating
Cambridge-South Dorchester, 120-
47, to improve to 7-0 on the season.
The Seahawks turned in several
great team and individual perform-
ances as they routed the Vikings,
120-47, last Thursday.
Among those winning individual
events were Hailey Williams in the
200-free, Madison Tinus in the 50-
free, Marley Rakow in the 100-free
and Williams in the 500-free. Chloe
Maykrantz finished first in the 100-
butterfly and Carly Deickman also
finished first in the 100-breast-
stroke.
The Seahawks also scored well
in the relays. The team of Williams,
Deickman, Tinus and Molly Wooten
finished first in the 200 medley relay
with a time of 206.93.
Tinus, Rakow, Rachel Bourne
and Maria Zweifel finished first in
the 200-freestyle relay with a time of
1:54.96.
Wooten, Bourne, Deickman and
Williams finished first in the 400-
freestyle relay with a time of
4:21.88.
