Senior Ariella Anthony helps Worcester Prep kindergarten student Stephen Carullo understand how to think like a programmer during a recent computer code program. Amanda Lynch’s fourth-grade class at Worcester Prep took its own virtual safari tour of parts of Africa this week. They hopped into their “Land Cruisers” and set off to the Cape of Good Hope where the Atlantic and the Indian oceans join and the city of Cape Town sits. The 37th Annual Stephen Decatur High School Children’s Theatre production of "Phylicia and the Pot of Pinks" was presented this month. Kindergarteners at Showell Elementary School donated over 60 pairs of pajamas to The Pajama Drive Organization, a charity that paired with Scholastic Book Club this holiday season. For every pair of pajamas contributed, Scholastic will provide a free book to a child. Each year, the Lions Club of Salisbury hosts the Lions International Peace Poster Contest for students ages 11 to 13. The theme for the 2014-2015 year is “Peace, Love and Understanding.” Posters are judged on originality, artistic merit and expression of the theme. Lion representative Mary Louise Barnes, left, presented awards to Worcester Preparatory School students Fiona Pando, Will Mears and Ava Gerachis. Standing with the winners are Lower School art teacher Rebecca Tittermary and Lower School Head Celeste Bunting, Salisbury. The overall competition winner, C.C. Lizas, will be presented her award at a later date.
