It’s the highest honor and represents humanitarian qualities, such as generosity, compassion and concern for the less fortunate. The honor is named for Melvin Jones, a Chicago businessman who founded Lions Clubs International in 1917. Greg Shockley, owner of Shenanigan’s Irish Pub in Ocean City, has donated $1,000 to the Ocean City Lions’ Wounded Warriors Fund and the 8th Annual “Wounded Warriors” Golf Tournament, scheduled for Oct. 16 at the Ocean City Golf Club.
