Division Street that owes over $9,000 in back taxes. The property has been vacant for nearly two years and is falling into disrepair. In October 2011, Salisbury’s Neighborhood Services and Code Compliance (NSCC) issued a notice to the property owner to board up broken windows. That order was not satisfied and a citation was ultimately issued. The citation was not paid and was subsequently forwarded to the District Court for a hearing. After three unsuccessful attempts at summons service, NCSS successfully submitted an affidavit to the District Court judge resulting in a guilty finding and the fines being doubled. NCSS ultimately boarded up the broken windows to secure the structure. The property has numerous citations on file including condemnation due to fire damage, failing to provide a vacant building registration, failing to provide a rehab plan and peeling paint, among others. Currently the amount owed to the city of Salisbury on the property is $9,519. “Considering this is a new endeavor, the first few petitions will naturally be somewhat cumbersome,” said NCSS Director Tom Stevenson. “The North Division Street property is the best candidate to test the waters.” OC Air Show Snapshots Weather washed out much of Saturday’s planned schedule, but the OC Air Show went on as planned on a beautiful Sunday afternoon last weekend.
